Like the Lakota Series, these paintings are subjective and spiritual responses to special places. They are reflective of varied places - from Paris to farms in Jefferson County, West Virginia. Ten of the series were produced in 1996 and Doug expects to return to them in the winter of 1997-98. Most of these works speak of Autumn or winter or the early beginnings of spring.
