In the course of one year and six months at West Virginia University Kinnett moved, from painting small works (15inches by 30 inches) with harmonious tonalities, to works as large as five feet by eight feet with bold color contrasts. At the suggestion of Professor Urban Couch, he began a group of studies of a storefront to a local meat and produce market in downtown Morgantown.
